What to search for on Amazon UK
Add your UK size to the search on Amazon (for example “34G”). Not sure of it? Use our bra size calculator first.
- 1
Underwired minimiser (seamed cups)
Firm, non-stretch cups with seams redistribute tissue towards the sides for a rounder, closer shape.
- 2
Minimiser T-shirt bra
Smooth cups for fitted shirts and knitwear, so nothing shows through.
- 3
Non-wired minimiser
Wire-free comfort with a firm, full-coverage cup.
- 4
Lace minimiser
A minimiser does not have to look plain. Lace overlay styles are common.

Search results change often, so a product appearing there has not necessarily been tested. Product photos, where shown, come from Amazon. How we handle affiliate links
A minimiser bra reduces how far your bust projects forward by spreading breast tissue across a wider, shallower cup. You keep a rounded, supported shape, and fitted shirts, jackets and knitwear sit more smoothly.
How does a minimiser bra work?
A minimiser cup is cut wider and less deep than a standard cup. Firm, non-stretch fabric and seams guide tissue towards the sides, so the bust sits closer to the chest. Makers usually say how much difference to expect; treat that as a guide, as the effect depends on your shape.
Who are minimiser bras for?
- Fuller busts, usually from a D cup upwards.
- Anyone whose shirts gape between the buttons.
- People who want a more streamlined silhouette under workwear or knitwear.
If you want comfort without wires, look for a non-wired minimiser, or see our guide to non-wired bras with good support.
Which size should you buy?
Buy your usual UK size; if you are not sure of it, our bra size calculator gives a starting point. A minimiser should never flatten you uncomfortably. Check:
- The wires sit behind your breast tissue at the sides, because minimiser cups are wider.
- The centre front touches your breastbone.
- The band is level and firm.
- There is no spilling at the top or the sides.
If the band rides up, try a sister size with a smaller band. The bra fitting guide explains each check.
Brands to search for
Wacoal and Triumph both make long-running minimiser bras, and most UK fuller-bust brands have at least one minimiser in their range.
Care
Hand wash or use a mesh bag on a cool cycle. Hang or lay flat to dry, and rotate between two or three bras so the elastic recovers between wears.
