- 1
Moulded underwired T-shirt bra
Pre-shaped foam cups give a smooth, rounded outline and hold their shape on the hanger, so they never crease under a top.
- 2
Spacer T-shirt bra (breathable cups)
Spacer fabric is a light, airy foam that shapes without padding. It suits fuller cups that dislike thick moulding.
- 3
Skin-tone T-shirt bra for white tops
A shade close to your skin tone disappears under white and pale tops better than white does.
- 4
Wire-free moulded T-shirt bra
The same smooth cups without underwires, for days when comfort comes first.

A T-shirt bra is a bra with smooth, seamless cups that leave no lines or bumps under fitted clothes. The cups are usually moulded foam or spacer fabric, and the style can be a full cup, a plunge or a balconette.
Moulded or spacer cups?
Moulded foam cups are shaped in a mould, so they keep a smooth, rounded outline even off the body. They also give a little modesty under thin fabrics. Spacer cups use a breathable, three-dimensional fabric that shapes without much padding. Spacer often suits fuller cups better, because it moulds to your shape instead of imposing one.
If you want no foam at all, see our guide to seamless bras, which are knitted rather than moulded.
Which shape should you pick?
- Full cup for the most coverage and support.
- Plunge for V-necks; a moulded plunge is the most common T-shirt bra. See our plunge bra guide.
- Balconette for a rounded, uplifted shape under scoop necks.
How should a T-shirt bra fit?
Moulded cups do not stretch, so the cup size has to be right. Find your starting size with our bra size calculator, then check:
- The top edge of the cup lies flat. A visible ridge means the cup is too small.
- There are no dents or wrinkles in the cup. Those mean the cup is too big.
- The wires sit behind your breast tissue at the sides.
- The band is level and firm on the loosest hook.
Our bra fitting guide has a fit checker for gaping cups and other common problems.
Brands to search for
Wacoal’s Basic Beauty and Freya’s Deco are well-known moulded T-shirt styles, and almost every high street brand has its own. For D cups and above, look at fuller-bust brands, whose moulded cups are deeper.
How to make it last
Hand wash or use a mesh bag on a cool, gentle cycle. Never fold one cup inside the other, as that creases moulded foam. Store bras flat, or nested cup into cup. See how to wash bras for the full routine.
