Bralettes: soft, pretty and easy to wear

A bralette is an unstructured, usually wire-free bra made for comfort and to be seen. It is light on support, so the fabric, band and cup shape decide how well one suits you.

A bralette is a soft, unstructured bra, usually without underwires or moulded cups, designed for comfort and to be seen. It gives light support, so it suits smaller busts, lounging and layering best, with sturdier styles available for fuller cups.

Bralette styles

  • Triangle bralettes: two triangular cups and thin straps. Light and minimal.
  • Longline bralettes: a deeper band under the cups that adds hold and looks like a crop top.
  • Padded bralettes: thin removable pads for shape and modesty.
  • Lace bralettes: decorative lace designed to peep out of necklines.
  • Racerback and high-neck bralettes: cover more and stay put under vests.

Good, affordable picks on Amazon UK

We chose these for strong reviews from many Amazon UK shoppers and a price below most similar listings when we checked in October 2026. We have not tested them ourselves. Check your size, today’s price and the returns policy before you buy.

Who suits a bralette?

Bralettes suit A to C cups for all-day wear, anyone who dislikes wires, and outfits where a pretty edge should show. For a fuller bust, choose a bralette sold in band and cup sizes, with a deep band and side support. If you need firm support without wires, see non-wired bras with good support.

How to size a bralette

Most bralettes come in S, M, L and XL. Start from your UK size: our bra size calculator gives one in a minute, then match your band and cup on the maker’s chart. If they point to different letters, choose by your band, because a loose band gives no support. The bralette should sit flat with no gaping at the top and no rolling at the band.

Bralette or seamless bra?

A seamless bra is knitted to disappear under fitted clothes; a bralette is often made to be seen. For lace that still lifts and shapes, a seamed lace bra does more than a bralette.

  1. 1

    Padded bralette with removable pads

Pads give modesty and a little shape, and come out on warm days or for layering.

  2. 2

Lace bralette to show under open shirts

Pretty enough to peep out of a low neckline or under a sheer blouse.

  3. 3

Bralette with a deep band for fuller busts

A wide underband and wider straps add hold that a thin elastic bralette cannot give.

Care

Hand wash or use a mesh bag on a cool cycle, take out removable pads first, and dry flat. Lace bralettes last longest when hooks and straps cannot snag them.

Questions people ask

Is a bralette the same as a bra?
A bralette is a type of bra without underwires or moulded structure. It gives lighter support and is often designed to be seen under clothes.
What size bralette am I?
Most are sold in S to XL. Find your UK band and cup with our bra size calculator, then match them on the maker’s size chart. If band and cup point to different sizes, choose by your band.
Can you wear a bralette with a big bust?
Yes, if it has a wide underband, side panels and is sold in cup sizes. Thin elastic bralettes sized S to L rarely support D cups and above all day.
